On 5 June 2025, the Court of Justice dismissed the appeal against the General Court’s judgment of 9 November 2022 (case T-158/21), in which the General Court rejected the request of the organisers of the 'Minority SafePack' initiative to annul the Commission Communication replying to that initiative. The Court of Justice thus upheld the judgment of the General Court.
A new version of the online collection system, used by individual ECIs to collect signatures online, has been released today. It offers a more user-friendly and more secure interface, better adapted for use on a smartphone.
This new release is part of the European Commission’s efforts to continuously improve the online collection system provided free of charge to all ECIs.

The European Commission has launched a tender procedure for the management of the European Citizens’ Initiative Online Collaborative Platform (ECI Forum). The procurement documents, including the tender specifications, are available on the EU Funding & Tenders Portal.
Organisations interested in this contract are invited to submit a tender in one of the official languages of the EU by 25 June 2025.
